CS2 has a lot of mechanics that a competent player will always use to get an advantage. One of the most important and not clear for beginners mechanics, is the movement, which affects the shooting, and the literacy of your movement on the map. In our today's article we offer you to understand it a little bit more, and understand how to move correctly in our favorite game.
Walking in CS2 is divided into 3 main types: Running, walking with Shift, crouching and jumping. Each of these types has its own characteristics, for example: running makes a lot of noise, by which you can be heard, and also greatly increases the spread of your weapons. Walking allows you to increase your accuracy, but in return slows you down considerably. Your speed can also be slowed down by the weapons you have in your hands. If you are holding an AWP rifle, you will walk very slowly. With a knife, the story is the opposite, because taking it will significantly increase your movement speed.
Proper strafes help you get an advantage when you come out from behind cover. When you start to move, your spread increases greatly. To prevent this from happening, there is a counter-strike in the game. To do it, you need to press the key in the other direction while moving. So your character will slow down, and the spread will return to normal.
There are also many combinations with other walking modes. Jumping from a crouch will be much higher, and also in this state you can help your allies to take a position thanks to planting.
As mentioned above, weapons slow down your running speed. Machine guns and sniper rifles affect this the most. Your character moves fastest with pistols and knives, which you should switch to more often, because they will help you get into position sooner, which is especially important when playing with sniper rifles.
